Freshmen Dorms

Connor glanced over and inwardly groaned, looking back at the doors and shoved his hands in his leather jacket's pockets firmly. He didn't want crap from her right now, he was running late.

Evelyn huffed a breath and wished they didn't have the world's shittiest elevator. She tapped her boot on the ground, and then began to tap out a rhythm absently.

Tap. Tappity-tap tap. Tap-tap. Tappity-tap. Tap.

"... Can you PLEASE stop?" Connor asked, swearing his eye was twitching with every obnoxious tap.

Evelyn glanced up at him, startled. Her foot slowed but didn't completely stop. "Jeez, it's a free country. So no, I can't. I'm tense."

"Yeah and you are making me tense, so stop dammit." Connor said, frowning as he stared at the elevator before it opened up once on their floor and dashed it, going to hit the "close" button quickly.

Bastard thinks he can close me out? Evelyn dove forwards, slipping neatly through the closing door into the elevator, and smiled wickedly at Connor across the way-too-tiny-for-two-enemies space. "Nice try. Next time remember to maim me first."

Connor scowled and leaned against the wall after getting the button for ground floor and closed his eyes.

Evelyn grinned. She wasn't usually one to pick fights, but this was payback to Connor for all the times he initiated things.

That, and she needed stress relief. "So why so late? Did you get your head stuck in the doorway?"

"Bonding time with a greek god and Frankie." Connor said with a yawn as he ruffled his hair.

Evelyn blinked, thrown. "A who and Frankie?" she asked, forgetting to be rude.

"The God of War and Frankie. Ya know, big black, and bring, long droolly foam tongue and stubby tail. 80 pounds?" Connor said, opening one eye to look down at her.

Evelyn tried not to punch him. She settled for narrowing her green eyes. "No, I wasn't aware you were keeping your identical twin in there."

"I'm sure that Frankie would love to be my twinny." He said and reached over, ruffling her hair.

Evelyn jerked her head to the side, aggravated. Why did every single guy she knew seem to be doing that to her? What'd she look like, a five-year-old?

It was probably because they were all so damn tall. Connor was probably his height.

"Frankie's life already sucks, living with you 24/7," she retorted, reaching up and undoing her ponytail to fix it again. "I'd spare the poor dog the trauma of being mistaken for your relative. Alexis is still regretting that after eighteen years."

"And yet you helped bring him back, didn't you?" Connor raised his eyebrows, waiting for the damned elevator to get to the floor.

"I'm a good Samaritan," she answered, silently wishing she'd left Frankie at Ashlee's. That way, she'd have had the satisfaction of watching both James and Connor run on a goose chase around Manhattan looking for the dog. She smiled at that image and filed it for future use.

The elevator was nearing the second floor and someone stopped it. Evelyn cursed.

Some brunette got in, sending Connor a smile that indicated she was clearly single. Evelyn bit her tongue and tried to repress a comment. She was going to be so damned late. She leaned back against the wall and shifted her bag irritably.

Connor sent her a charming smile back to the brunette as he stood up straighter, his mood now much perkier then it was a moment ago.

Evelyn rolled her eyes and gratefully stepped out onto the ground floor. She made her way to class quickly, soon ditching Connor.

When Evelyn returned, a light rain was falling. She wondered what Alexis had been up to. She wondered if Ashlee had heard. She didn't sound too horrified from her text.

Evelyn had left class quickly so she wouldn't be stuck with Connor again. She hated terse conversations, and didn't trust her tongue.

She headed inside and up to her suite, unlocking the door. She took off her wet trench coat and hung it on the shower curtain railing. Then she headed for her room and sat down at her desk to start her homework until Ashlee came over.

Seth was talking animatedly to a cute blond he'd met in one of his classes. He approached the freshmen building and found out she lived on the seventh floor. She was one of those kind of trashy types. He didn't mind. She was a good kisser and more than made up for it on the elevator ride up to the fifth floor. She insisted that since they had no work, he didn't really have anything to do and should come over and "hang out". But Seth pulled away from her and got out at the fifth floor, promising to call.

He needed to preserve his remaining IQ.

He ran a hand through his mussed hair as he headed down the hall to his suite. Then he paused and decided he'd rather go "hang out" elsewhere. He doubled back on his steps and went down the hall to Alexis and Evelyn's suite, flattening his hair. That blond bitch had mussed it up in a moment of lust.

Seth arrived at 505 and rapped sharply on the door, a smirk on his face as he called, "Greek God delivery."

Alexis came out of her room, blowing on her fingers from repainting them. She was in her sweats now, and out of her simi-uncomfortable punk-jeans. She still had her blue short-sleeve pull over hoodie on. She peeked into Evelyn's room as she had heard noise before going over to the door and opened it carefully due to her tacky-nail paint. "... Egh. It's you... and.. you have.. lipstick all over your lips?"

Seth blinked down at her and then swiped his hand over his mouth, cringing. "Fuck, that is disgusting." He looked down at it. "It's pink. Christ."

"Don't take the Lord's name in vain, asshole," Evelyn's voice called down the hallway. Seth snickered, barging past Alexis into the main living area.

"'Sup, Lexi?" he asked nonchalantly, dropping onto the couch and putting his feet up on the coffee table. He grinned at her as she stood there. "I was in the neighbourhood."

"I have the right mind to punch you." Alexis said, but then cringed, being reminded about her hand and glanced down at it, keeping her fingers spread for her nails. "You can't just invite yourself into me and Evelyn's dorm outside permission."She said, kicking the door shut behind her.

"What she said," Evelyn's voice agreed, sounding distracted. Seth guessed she was working or some shit.

He returned his gaze to Alexis, who was now fuming. "Of course not. That would be rude. But I know you want me here." He winked roguishly at her. "So I guess that works as well as any verbal invitation."

"...Seth, get out." Alexis glared, crossing her arms and switched her weight to one side. "Now."

Seth studied her with a momentary sober look. Then he said quietly, "You'll get out of that funk someday. Keep trying though." He flashed a grin at her.

".. Ugh. Screw you, Andreajandro." Alexis grumbled and went over, sitting down on the far side of the couch away from him. "What do you want anyway?"
