Ashlee, Evelyn, and Lola's Apartment
After a very eventful first year at NYU, Lola, Ashlee, and Evelyn had decided to move into an apartment together. Ashlee had wanted nothing more than to escape her awful roommate and as soon as her lease expired she packed her bags and began looking for better housing. She had missed on some of the insanity that took place in the dorms and had regretted not rooming with her best friend Evelyn.
Lola just wanted out of the dorms, she didn't mind her roommate but the dorms were cramped and she liked the idea of really being on her own although now affording rent was another expense she wasn't entirely enjoying having to add to her list of bills but it was worth it to not have to share a dorm room.
After Lola's path had crossed with Ashlee's and Evelyn's so much due to the turbulent relationship/non-relationship between Evelyn and her best friend Jake she had grown close to both Ashlee and Evelyn as a result very much enjoying their company. They figured splitting an apartment three ways would be more beneficial to them in the end.
The semester had been pretty tame in comparison to last years events, Thanksgiving was tomorrow and Lola had approached the girls about going out to have some fun before she went home to spend Thanksgiving with her mom and sister and Jake's family like she had every year.
She was applying some lipstick to her lips and standing in front of her mirror straightening out her top. "Hey do you girls need more time?" She called out, picking the lint off of her black tank top.
"Just one more minute!" Ashlee yelled from the bathroom as she posed in front of the mirror in her outfit for the evening.

Re: Ashlee, Evelyn, and Lola's Apartment
To say their first year at NYU had been eventful was an understatement. It had been enough to convince Evelyn that she needed to never live on campus again. Like ever.
Where her best friend seemed to regret missing out on the drama that occurred back when Evelyn had lived in the first-year residence building, Evelyn herself could have done with a lot less of it. And so far, two months into the semester, she seemed to be getting her wish.
It probably helped that she, Ashlee, Luke and James had spent a good chunk of the summer away from New York City and its drama. They had circulated around Europe, touching down in Paris, Rome, even Milan for a little, Athens and London. Luke and Evelyn had wanted to check out Barcelona, but given it would have caused unnecessary drama nobody wanted, they opted to skip that. There was always next summer. Evelyn figured Jake probably wasn't all that upset about not seeing James on his ancestral land.
And, if she were honest, it was probably best she and Jake got some space anyhow.
Evelyn could hear her roommates hollering through the closed door of her room. She stood in front of her vanity table, dressed to go in a deep-blue blouse and black shorts; her hair had grown out over the summer, falling midway to her back in loose waves. She was putting on one final coat of cherry-red lipgloss while keeping an eye on the beagle asleep at the foot of her bed.
Nova's brown-black-grey dappled back rose and dropped slowly and he kicked his back leg, no doubt caught up in some doggy dream. Watching him, a brief smile touched Evelyn's face, softening her usually cool expression.
Evelyn turned away from the mirror, snatched up her tiny purse for the night, and headed out to the living room where her knee-high gladiator sandals stood ready.
"Come on, Ash!" she called, sliding her shoes on, one hand braced against the hallway wall for balance. She knelt to lace up the gladiators, brushing a strand of brownish-red hair out of her face. "Let's hit it before all the cute guys are gone! I'm not looking for a sugar daddy tonight." If she knew Ashlee, the girl would have something to say about that remark. Evelyn's lips twitched into a slight smirk as she straightened.
She walked to the kitchen to check on Nova's food and water dishes, pulling her phone out of the back pocket of her shorts as she did. Flicking to her Facebook, Evelyn held onto her phone with one hand, pouring some more water into Nova's bowl before setting it back and returning to the front door as she eyed her newsfeed.

Re: Ashlee, Evelyn, and Lola's Apartment
Lola snorted walking out of her room overhearing Evelyn's sugar daddy comment. "Hey I wouldn't mind a sugar daddy, someone to pay my tuition is actually rather tempting."
She eyed the shoe rack near the door picking up her combat boots she pulled them on over her black ripped jeans lacing them up, usually she wore heels but hadn't really felt like stumbling over herself since she planned to get pretty hammered tonight.
"Ash, come on!" Lola hollered for her again, she leaned against the wall near the front door, waiting for their raven haired friend. Lola took her dark brown hair and began braiding it into a loose braid the ends dyed a hot pink she had done impulsively before Halloween.
Ashlee finally emerged from the bathroom pulling a face at Evelyn at her remark, she came out in a form fitting black and pink bandage dress slipping into a pair of black pumps. "Ew Ev, you know my rule I don't hook up with guys over 30. Unless they're Brad Pitt." She added with a wink.

Re: Ashlee, Evelyn, and Lola's Apartment
Evelyn had thrown Lola a grin as she retrieved her coat from the tiny hall closet. "Don't think Ashton would like that kind of talk, you hussy."
She threw her coat on, then led the way out into the hallway once the other two were (finally) ready.
They were headed to the pool lounge they'd discovered last year, near campus. As they climbed into a cab, Evelyn sliding over to the far window with Ashlee right next to her, Evelyn pulled her phone out again.
Her eyes landed on the Facebook conversation she'd been having with James on his Wall, and despite herself, she withheld a smile. Was James annoyed? She really couldn't tell, but she sure was amused.
She hadn't been lying. There really had been a piece of paper with a phone number on it left around their living room. Of course, it was possible it belonged to someone else, but Evelyn figured it was safe enough of a guess to assume it was the outcome of James batting his big blues at some unsuspecting girl.
"Hey Ash," Evelyn said casually, glancing at the black-haired girl. "Am I a terrible person for making baby daddy jokes to James?" She didn't mention a certain Candice they'd all known in highschool.
