Freshmen Dorms

"Nothing," she said stubbornly, attempting to pull free and not drop the startled Nova. She cursed under her breath, because now she wasn't feeling anything at all. And she liked it that way.

"Seriously," she stared Jake in the eye, straight-faced. "Nothing new. Usual witty banter."

She managed to free her hand and turned on her heel, almost running back to her suite. She needed a place to explode in peace and she was sick of holding everything in.

She shoved open the door, set Nova down and then remembered she forgot his food. She didn't have the gall to face Jake at the moment though.

"Sorry, boy, dog biscuits for now," she said, sinking onto the couch.

Seth entered the building and rode up the elevator.

Alexis came in from checking on the cake in the oven. She paused, eying Evelyn. "...Ev?" She said cautiously, knowing something was wrong and headed over to the couch, sitting by her.

Evelyn inhaled the aroma of chocolate cake wafting through the air. "That smells so good," she commented. She glanced up at Alexis. "Oh, I just had a bad conversation is all."

She leaned down at ruffled Nova's head. "Are you going to school tomorrow?"

Jake expelled a breath, clearly something was bugging her, but he figured he couldn't really make her say what was on her mind. This was just how she dealt with things he supposed, he was just use to Lola crying to him all the time, so this was something he wasn't used to, he decided to just let her walk away because he knew she wasn't like most girls.

He looked down at his hand and realized he still had the dog food, and figured he'd just give it to her tomorrow, he turned around and walked back to his dorm room.

"... Yeah, I need to start catching up." Alexis replied as she watched Evelyn a little before hesitatingly letting it go and deciding to not bug her.

In light of her highly pissed off mood, Evelyn rearranged her internship shift so she could go to the party that night.

She and Alexis sat at breakfast that morning, and Evelyn, still in her pajamas, stirred her coffee absently as she flicked through a city guide.

"Hey, Lex?" she said, pausing at a page. "We should do something fun today. I have ot go meet Ash in the afternoon, but I'm skipping class. Don't feel like going and the prof posts the lecture slides up online anyways. We should do something. Nova probably own't appreciate being cooped up either." She fed the dog at her feet a bit of her toaster strudel.

Alexis came from the kitchen with her own toaster strudel, just in her tank top and short bottoms of her superman PJ's. "Like what? I know there's tons to do in this city but.. what SHOULD we do?" Alexis smirked, sitting down by her and reached down, giving a kiss to Nova's head, putting her sweet tea on the table and taking a bite of her breakfast.

Evelyn tapped a finger on the wooden table. Nova sat down on his rump and watched them expectantly.

She grinned, somewhat over the whole drama of the previous night. "I say we do something crazy. I mean, I know we're doing that whole thing tonight, but I feel like cutting loose in a less whorish way too." She smirked now. "What's oneof the craziest things you've ever wanted to do? I'll tell you mine and then we'll see if we can't combine 'em."

She sat up, nudging Nova gently with her foot. "I have always wanted to dress up in some crazy costume and parade around in a public place. It's a childhood thing."

"Bungee jump. Or- like those videos online, dress up in a video game character costume and cause chaos in stores." Alexis grinned and held out a piece of her food to Nova as she sipped at her tea.

Eveln grinned. "What would be a cartoon character least likely to bungee jump?" She snickered. "I bet we could find a trampoline somewhere...."

"Probably could. Oh, we should go through that.. toy.. place and just go nuts." Alexis grinned, petting Nova.

Evelyn grinned. She had a sudden flash of inspiration when she looked down at Nova.

"Or..." she lifted her head, green eyes dancing, "we could go to the toy store as Daphne and Velma." She snickered. "And then have all the kid fun we want."

"Doesn't Velma have reddish brown hair though?" Alexis mused as she looked at Evelyn, grinning amusedly.

Evelyn shook her head. "Dark brown. At least she used to. She and Daphne get makeovers somewhere along the way." She grinned wider. "We could get wigs because neither of us has orange heir. And like, a highneck sweater for Velma and that ancient dress with tights for Daphne. And we even have our Scooby. Albeit he's more Scrappy right now."

Nova yipped in affirmation.

"Who? Connor?" Alexis smirked, ruffling Nova's ears and finished her breakfast. "That sounds really fun- kids would be asking for autographs."

Evelyn choked on her coffee at the thought of Connor in a dog suit. "Um, no, I meant Nova." She stifled a laugh. "Connor's more Shaggy-looking."

She got up and placed her coffee much in the sink, mentally planning an outfit so they could leave quickly.

Alexis laughed and nodded, getting up and went to her room to change.

Evelyn's pre-planning had saved her time. She was ready in fifteen minutes. Because it was sunny out, she chose a tank and then pulled a white boat-necked shirt with the words "I'M BAD" written across the front, on top, following it with rather punkish jeans. There was something ironic in that, she thought, pulling on her boots.

She grabbed her large black bag, enough for Nova, at least, and coaxed the dog into it while she threw her hair up into a high ponytail. Liner and gloss, a handful of silver and black bracelets and she was done.

Alexis had found something amusing at the thrift store the day before, for her. Evelyn pulled the two-ring cross out of its box and slid it onto the middle and fourth fingers of her left hand. It went with that whole "Bad" theme well.

"Let's go, Lex!" she called, reclining on the arm of the couch and placing her sunglasses atop her head.

Alexis pulled on her "VAIN" two knuckle ring as she tousled her hair's curls to spreading out across her shoulders and grabbed her bag, throwing her lip-gloss, iPhone and some cash in there. She placed on her Aviator sunglasses and headed out of her room. "M'kay."She replied as she grabbed her dorm keycard on the way by the table.

Evelyn had her own phone in her hand and was updating her status while Nova rolled around in the large bag at her feet. She got up and trotted out into the hallway, waiting for Alexis to exit before locking the suite door.

The girls headed towards the elevator and Evelyn groaned when she caught a flash of hair the same color as Alexis' streaks up ahead.

THis was a whole head of it.

"Yo yo yo,, wazzup?" Seth, dressed in jeans and a rumpled blue v-neck whistled obnoxiously as he strutted down the hall. He paused to aim a kick at Connor's suite door and then walked on towards them.

Evelyn leaned over to Alexis. "Think we can make the stairs before he gets here?"

A yelp sounded from Connor's room and then several curses.

"I'm wearing sandles so probably... on second thought, Ev..." Alexis gave a grin, eyes sparkling with deviousness. "What if Seth was the hideous monster, Daphne and Velma have to look for and tie up? We could just leave him there, tied up and leave the store.."

Evelyn's eyes widened appreciatively and she glanced at the ex-blond. Then her lips quirked in a smile.

"You want him tag along with us though? Is your sanity up to it?" She pulled a face. Seth would begin harping on about Jake and, James aside, Jake Salazar was the LAST person she wanted to think about that night.

Seth, meanwhile, had knocked a rhythm on Connor's door again, a dimpled smirk on his face.

"Evelyn, I could NOT pass up the chance to tie up Seth to a pole and leave him there. I could even be a sexy Velma and seduce him there." Alexis smirked darkly and rolled her eyes. "And- if we bring Connor he can be Shaggy and I'm pretty sure all the kids would glomp him to the ground."

Connor stomped over to the door and threw it open. "Who the HE-... Seth?"

"Mornin'," Seth chirped at him way too loud for a Tuesday morning. He glanced at the two girls. "Yo, ladies, where are you headed?"

Evelyn raised an eyebrow at Seth before glancing at Alexis. "Practicing on him before tonight? I like that." She grinned and then flashed Seth a fake smile. "Toy Store."

Seth's blue eyes widened. He elbowed Connor so hard the brunet almost disappeared from the doorway. Not that Evelyn could see much more than his nose from her position.

"We're coming with! Jake can't do a lot right now and I have class later so this works out well, huh?" Seth said. "And Connor will come with. He's been moody."

How is that new? Evelyn wondered irritably. She was wishing they had made a run for it. "Um, no, neither of you are welcome."

"C'mooon.."Alexis whined quietly to Evelyn. "Please? You know it'd be fun. Even with Connor being a douche. I can kick his balls. And you have a killer ring to punch him with."

Connor grunted in pain and shoved Seth, not hard but enough to get the point across. He turned to the side and pulled on his Nikes before grabbing his things and stepped out of his dorm.
