Freshmen Dorms

Jake paced around the dorm room, he was still a bit peeved at the red-headed menace he ran into earlier. He seriously did not understand what her problem was, he tried to help and she called him a creep?

He ran a hand through his hair, and found a bouncy ball or something Lola had given him, and he started throwing it against the wall which had somehow cooled him down a bit more, although he knew if he threw it any harder he'd probably make a new hole in his new dorm room.

Jake felt a bit more ease especially since he knew the campus was huge and the chances of running into her again were a million to one.

Seth swung open the door loudly, flinging Lucifer's carrier through the doorway and into the living room of the suite. He glanced around as he carried in his other suitcase. Jake was probably in one of the four bedrooms in the suite. A small thudding confirmed this. Seth walked back out and down the stairs swiftly, taking them tow at a time till he reached his other suitcase. he grabbed it and hauled ass back ot the suite, stopping only momentarily to check out a pair of blond twins.

Returning to the suite, he was greeted by a battered looking Lucifer. Seth bent and opened the carrier door. The feline shot out and ran toward the worn-out couch in the living room.

Seth dragged his suitcases ot one of the rooms, kicked the cat carrier under his bed and then went to find Jake. It wasn't hard. He followed the racket his friend was making. He knocked on the open door of the other boy's room, smirking.

"Stress relief, Salazar?" he asked, leaning against the threshold. His blue eyes were on Jake's stress-ball, now being punched to the wall.

The ball flew off the wall and Jacob caught it in his hand and he looked to the doorwayand saw his friend Seth.

"Yeah sorta ran into some red headed bitch downstairs but that's over with."

Jake heard a small noise from outside his room and he raised an eyebrow at hime, "You brought Luce didn't you?"

Seth shrugged and then glanced down as Lucifer swept into the room, chin aloft, looking remarkably like a silvery iceberg lettuce. He was, Seth admitted, more cute than deadly, but appearances mattered none when it came to Lucifer.


Lucifer arched his back at Jake in greeting and then rubbed against Seth's leg.

"Little pig, he's hungry," Seth grunted, and made no effort to move. "His owners went on vacation and he jumped ship with me. What redheaded bitch?" he asked Jake instead.

Jake chuckled petting the cat on the head, "Luce is gonna get you kicked out of here you know that?"

"Oh yeah the female. Tried to help this girl with all her crap and she called me a creep, what's up with being nice. Granted she was hot but I could feel a major bitch vibe from her."

"She probably knew she was hot then," Seth surmised. Lucifer yeowled at Jake, still whining.

"God," Seth groaned. "I haven't exactly told admin I have an extra guest. Just hope whoever gets the other rooms isn't allergic to cats. That would screw things up."

He sank down on Jake's bed. "Hey, by the way, I saw these identical blond twins down the hall." His mouth tugged into a grin. "And Rafe mentioned there would be a freshmen party at some obscure suite on the seventh floor. It's like tradition since they have 12-bed suites so there's more room. We're off to a good start."

"Party huh?" Jacob smirked instantly forgetting his run-in with Satan.

"Yeah looks like we are." He agreed.

Evelyn collapsed onto the bed of one of the bedrooms in the two-bed suite. She opened up her first suitcase, deciding to get her unpacking over with. She wondered where her roomie was. Hopefully they'd get along. But Evelyn was determined to make it through this year unscathed and unnoticed.

The dorm was cute, with two bedrooms, a tiny bathroom they'd have to share and a cute kitchenette and living space. Evelyn began hanging up her clothes first.

Seth nodded. Lucifer turned and leapt onto the bed, pawing at Seth's hand.

"Did you unpack yet?" Seth asked Jake. "Oh," he leaned forward, a twinkle in his laughing eyes, "where's that hot friend of yours? Going to NYU?"

Alexis, having gotten there a few days ago, had already made her spot in her bedding area of the suite. She unlocked the door, stepping in and dropped her bag by the door for now as she kicked it shut behind her.

She was beginning to wonder how many damn times the group was all going to go to the same state and school. In this case, college, but it was starting to feel like a bad episode of Twilight Zone.

"Eh sorta unpacked I'll finish later, and as for Lola, yes she's going here for the drama program or something like that."Jacob replied.

"Although I'm quiet suprised your into her, she's not really your type." Jake added bluntly.

"Hot is my type," Seth replied smugly, lying bakc on the bed and allowing Lucifer to walk onto his chest. As if the cat was offended at Seth's lack of morals, he meowed.

Seth swore out loud. "He dug his fricking claws into me!" He shoved Lucifer off the bed and sat up, rubbing his chest in aggravation. He remembered his train of thought. "Is Lola dorming or still with her 'rents?"

Evelyn heard the thud of the door and someone carrying luggage across the carpet. She waited a while, packing away her stuff before going to the living room of the suite to see if her roomie was done unpacking.

Alexis looked up from setting her bag on the couch and sorting through it before pausing when she saw Evelyn, and felt something rock bottom. So they were all here. What the hell?

"Um, Ev?" She slightly asked the obvious as she stood up straighter.

Jacob laughed, "How can I forget, living is your type." He snickered as he heard Seth yell at Luciefer.

Jacob spun the coin around on the dresser and responded to Seth's other questions on his best friend, "Yeah she's dorming here. So is her sister but Lola has another rommate since her sister is like a junior or something like that."

Seth's smirk returned after the pained look Lucifer had gifted him. "She has a sister? Sweet." He stood. "Man, you wanna go see who else is in here? There's a lounge thing on the ground floor with a big ass TV. Let's meet people."

Evelyn stared. And stared some more before she closed her mouth. "Wow, small world, ALexis," she commented, moving forwards to hug the girl. She and Alexis had gotten pretty acquainted in their junior year, and then lost touch. Evelyn's mood improved somewhat. At least her roomie wasn't some ditz.

"Did you know Ash and Luke are here?" she asked, releasing Alexis and stepping back to sit on the couch.

"And.."Alexis started before catching herself and just nodded, sitting on the couch also. "They had some big Ashcreek reunion or whatever on the courtyard. I ran away." She chirped with a grin. "How have you been?"

"My mistake for telling you about Olivia and Lola. Yeah I agree let's get out of here. We need to mingle with our new classmates, more so the coed ones." Jacob smirked heading towards the door.

Seth followed and, just before he closed the suite door, Lucifer shot thorugh, winding around Jake's leg with superhuman speed and almost tripping him.

"Damned fanged menace," Seth murmured, walking past Jake to the stairwell. He glanced over his shoulder. "Put him back in the dorm room, we'll get kicked out if someone sees him."

"Is that a cat?" a nearby girl squealed. Seth cringed. Shit, shit, double fricking...

"Oh, look it's so fluffy adn cute," the girl said to her friend.

"No, it isn't, holler-mouth," Seth snapped at her before the idiotic females could scream up building Security and get him kicked out. "My friend has a growth on his foot. Now go be insensitive elsewhere." The girls' eyes widened as they looked Jake over, uncertainty in their expressions.

Lucifer yeowled in agreement and Seth had a sudden urge to stomp on the animal.

"You ran?" Evelyn asked with a grin, half-wondering what Alexis had been about to say. "Luke is annoying to a point, I suppose." She gestured to the window. "I cannot wait to check out the city. New people, shopping, cute guys," Evelyn's mouth quirked a little at those words, "and of course, the whole Big Apple culture. It's going to be a big change from Ash Creek, huh?"

Alexis nodded with a grin. "From farming town to big loud city. I love it." Alexis stated as she brushed her bangs out of her eyes, looking over at Evelyn. "Do you ever find it weird that we all ended up together again? Like... a big acid trip or something."

Evelyn grinned at Alexis' phrasing. "Lexie," she said, deliberately using Luke's nickname for her, "I'm glad I have some people in this huge city that i do know. I mean, it's not like the whole of Ash Creek High, Joel, James, whoever, is here, so for the limited amount that I know ot be here, I'm happy. But of course, we don't have to hang with just the old crowd. We can get out, make new friends." She paused, looking up at Alexis still hovering by the couch. "It's strange, yes. Even stranger that you're here. I guess I didn't think you'd be headed this way after Ash Creek."

"I love the city- I mean, after growing up in Miami and all, you kinda miss it." Alexis smirked, moving onto the couch more as she crossed her legs. "You get tired of the hick-town kinda vibe and wanna go back to the rude ass people who make love to their car horns." She grinned widely at that.

"I miss Seattle," Evelyn commented with a nod. "Do you know NY, though? I've only ever been here once and that was to a funeral. So not really much of a tourist getaway." She didn't add details, deciding to omit whose funeral it was

"Only once- For a school class trip when I was a freshmen in high school." Alexis said, pulling her hair up into a lose ponytail, thrown over her shoulder. "We only went to Times Square though and then one of those bus night tour things they do."She said, looking out the window. "Weird to think we're kinda LIVING here though now."

Evelyn felt a sudden thrill at Alexis' words and jumped up. "Wanna check out the place some before dinner? There's a game room and a lounge downstairs somewhere, I remember that from the brochures."

"Wha- Sudden but okay."Alexis smirked, standing up. "Sure,"

Evelyn stood and quickly patted down her light pink tank top to flatten the creases. As she followed Alexis to the door, she pulled her scrunchie off and fluffed out her hair. Between coming to NY and the end of senior year, she'd cut it to a little below her shoulders. After a trip to Seattle, the blonde colouring had lightened to sun-streaks.

New city, new hair, Evelyn thought with amusement. She needed it. No more drama this year. I'm going to be a carefree teenager. She pulled a dark pink lipgloss tube out of the back pocket of her cargo pants and applied it as she and Alexis headed down the stairs. Evelyn held out the lip gloss tube to her roomie with a grin. "Girlify yourself?"
