Athletic Facility - Gym A.

Evelyn frowned up at him, uncertain. He sounded normal enough. "I..." She bit down on her lower lip and then blurted out, "Um, thanks for not embarrassing me back there. I kind of expected you to."

Jake didn't really care, he could have humiliated her, probably mentioned to Tony that she was the masked girl at the party.

Or anything else embarrassing, but he didn't feel like it. He was kind of in a I-don't-care mood.


"Yeah, didn't feel like it. You're lucky, take it as a freebie Rojo." Jake said patting Evelyn on the shoulder.

Jake's fingers were cold, probably from his shower. Evelyn pushed his hand off the bare skin of her shoulder, frowning. "What'd you call me now?" she asked, more curious than annoyed. They appeared to be headed the same way and started down the hall.

She glanced at her phone. Ash wanted to meet up. Evelyn texted her back a promise to meet at 12 at her dorm room so she could watch Nova.

Jake snickered, "It means "red" like the color red? Or would you perfer I call you rouge?" Jake purred, winking at her.

He actually liked how that sounded, it sounded sexy. It reminded him of the French girl, he met when he visited Paris with his cousins.

Evelyn fought down her blush. There was nothing wrong with the word - just the way he said it. She'd never seen it used that way; the French had many other phrases of affection, after all. They were into that whole passionate lover thing almost as much as the Spanish. She wasn't about to tell Jake this, though. Not on her life.

She recovered her composure a second too late, reaching over to ruffle Nova's head as he hung in Jake's bag. "Your pronunciation is terrible," she informed the Spaniard somewhat tauntingly. "Why don't you stick to your language and not butcher mine?"

Jake scoffed,"Sorry I didn't eat a bowl of mucous before saying red, in Booger." Jake taunted Evelyn's snooty Parisian side.

Evelyn almost turned and smacked him in the jaw again. She wasn't particularly patriotic, but she loved her language.

But that would give The Bastard another thing to bitch at her about. So she sent him a sideways smile, green eyes twinkling, turned on her deviousness and, curling her R's just a certain way and emphasizing the soft G into a sultry J, said softly, "I'm sorree. It's rrrouge," .

Jake was caught off guard by that. He was expecting something along the lines of a lecture, and a smack.

Not that he didn't approve the sex kitten appeal.

"Didn't know working out put you in the mood chicka."Jake said flirtatiously.

Evelyn flashed him an amused smile. Was Jake flirting again? No, she figured he was just teasing her. "I'm in a good mood," she said, tugging her bag up higher on her shoulder.

A good mood? Jake wasn't expecting this either. Everytime he saw her she always seemed to hate life.

"So why so chipper? Did you make a body lifter cry?" Jake asked nudging her.

Evelyn laughed out loud at the image. "No," she said, elbowing his side. "Your friend, T-, uh, Antonio? He asked me out."

Jake snorted, raking his damp hair off his forehead. "Really? You didn't scare him away?"

Evelyn shrugged, still smiling. "He apparently thought I was funny. And I managed to get Ashton's number for Ashlee, so we can double-date."

She had a sudden moment of should-I-be-telling-him-this guessing. But then, Jake seemed to like Antonio. She gnawed her lip, throwing Jake an uncertain glance and said tentatively, "He seems like a decent guy. Nova's attitude didn't run him off."

Jake's eyes widened, he knew Antonio had a brother, but he didn't know that he had a twin! Plus out of all the names, Ashton and Ashlee, really?
Nova barked at the mention of his name from Evelyn, and Jake snickered at how the puppy reacted towards Antonio, he thought it was funny.

"Who's a good boy?" Jake said rubbing the dogs belly.

Jake looked up at Evelyn and snorted,
"Ashton and Ashlee? Really? Gee you could have saved them both some confusion and let her go out with Tony."

Evelyn shrugged, refusing to be bothered by his sneering tone. He sounded like he was nearing jerk-mode and she decided she wanted to get away from him asap before he killed off her good mood.

"Antonio already knew me. And Ashton seems really quiet. I think Ash would do him good. Antonio agrees with me," she said quietly. She reached over and ruffled Nova's head.

Jacob tried to remember his brief encounter with Ashlee, she did seem nice, and very social.

She was a hottie, "Oh yeah, good fix. Ashlee is a hottie." Jake grinned.

"That too," Evelyn agreed good-naturedly. She couldn't keep track of his moods at all and it bothered the hell out of her. She bit the inside of her cheek and decided not to say anything else lest it lead to yet another argument.

They exited the building and Evelyn decided to barge ahead and almost slammed the door in Jake's face behind her, soft-of-accidentally. She gritted her teeth, unable to pinpoint her source of aggravation.

If he was headed for the dorms, she didn't really want to walk with him. She sped up and got there before him, taking the stairs so her no-longer-chipper mood wouldn't make her say somethign stupid to him. He probably assumed she was too tired to say anything and she'd rather he believe that.

She entered the fifth floor and then her suite. She had an hour before class and she headed for the shower after dropping her bag on her bed.
