Times Square Empty Re: Times Square

Post  Guest Thu Apr 14, 2011 1:03 am

After Ashton had parked his car, him and Lola both walked out onto the busy streets of Times Square, the bright lights shining from the gigantic neon signs. The sidewalks crowded with people, of all ages out enjoying the nice evening out.

Lola took a deep breath and the scent of hot dogs and exhaust from cars mixed into her nose. Most people wouldn't find it attractive but that was true New York. She looked up at Ashton and said. "So what's new with you, I feel like I haven't seen you in awhile."

Ashton dodged a woman with a pram and looked down at Lo,a, brushing dark hair out of his eyes. "Went to a family gathering over break. We have like all our relatives coming up from down South and Canada, and it's basically a big eating fest. I'm shocked TOny and I can still walk, because healthy eating is not something we recognize around my house." He grinned a little ruefully. "Hell, if my mother actually saw the crap I live on now, she'd probably make us both move back home." He snorted. "You?"

Lola giggled, pushing her braided hair back, so it fell down her back. "My mom would freak out too. Actually she did freak out when I came back home for break, she thinks I'm starving myself. I have two dance classes this semester so I guess that's where all the cheeseburgers have been going."

"Damn, that must be a workout," Ashton commented, leading the way to a hot dog vendor. "But wait, why do you have dance classes? I thought you only wanted to go for acting, or like, is dance kind of mandatory?" he asked, confused. He could never figure out all the fancy art majors.

Lola stopped in the line for the hot dog vendor. "Well thing is when I signed up for theatre. I wanted to do Broadway, you know stage, singing, dancing. I've been doing that since I was like a kid. But I think I wanna change over to film. Regardless, I like dancing and I'd rather be in a studio than a gym anyway and it helps me remember my moves, because dancing I'm usually having fun so it doesn't really feel like I'm working out."

"Hmm, not much of a dancer," Ashton commented, pulling out his wallet as they reached the vendor. "Which is funny because supposedly we come from a line of good dancers. I guess it only applies when we're inebriated."

"If you consider swaying around drunkly dancing. Then yes, you're an excellent dancer." Lola teased Ashton.

Ashton scoffed. "Oh please, I offered you the moon! How many other drunks do that?" he exclaimed, handing a five dollar bill to the vendor.

"A hotel on the moon." Lola corrected him, grabbing her hot dog from the vendor and thanking him. "And I'm still holding you to your word." She laughed putting ketchup on on her hot dog and taking a bite.

"Yeah, remind me to ask Seth how that'll happen," Ashton remarked, biting into his own hot dog ravenously, thoughts of not being hungry forgotten. "Oh, speaking of, can you do us all a favour and maybe slap Jake out of his emo funk when we get back? We wanna go out and have us a guys' night but he's being his broody Romeo self again. I mean, yeah, we get he had yet another spat with Evelyn, and I know this because I talked to Luke, who mentioned James and Jake had an altercation earlier today. That would explain Jake's nose, but...yeah, he's being all sulky and shit."

Lola swallowed her food, wiping the corner of her mouths with her napkin. She sighed hearing about Jake's foul mood and knowing that it was linked to what he had said and done to Evelyn when he was possessed. But even before then they were still kind of rocky. Things just seemed to have gotten worse between them.

"Honestly, he won't even really listen to me. I mean I tried talking to him but he's stubborn, it is just kind of how he is. He never really handles the whole rejection, whatever thing too well. I'm sure though once you guys get him drunk though he'll be fine. Plus its just not easy for him you know, being bi polar and crap he hates it so much how he feels and stuff because he knows he gets under our skin a lot. " Lola said to Ashton. "Its hard to be patient with him I know, trust me even I wanna murder him half the time when he gets down in a funk but it sort of just rides itself out. "

"So this thing with them is just gonna go back and forth?" Ashton deduced. "I don't know, does it seem like Evelyn's gonna move on or what? Because I seriously think they both should just give each other, and all of us, a break and move on already."

Lola wasn't sure if she should mention this or not but, she had to agree with Ashton and just about everyone else. It was really high time that Jacob and Evelyn moved on. Their relationship was just too back and forth and it just made both of them hard to be around. "Funny you should mention Evelyn, I actually ran into her when I was downstairs waiting for you and she mentioned that she was going out tonight with her friend um.. Carrie and these exchange students. She seemed excited to go out, and you know what, I think her and Jake should both on it really would be best for them."

"Wait..what?!" Ashton exclaimed. "She's going out on a date - like she's already dating around?" A sliver of anger crept into his voice. This was freaking unfair. Shouldn't Jake have gotten some clear signal?

"Well I mean I don't know if its really a date, I mean... she just said she was going out. Looking forward to it. uh... that's a date isn't?" Lola said pulling a face. Sure she was kind of mad that Evelyn hadn't really made it too obvious to Jake that she wanted to see other people, not that he made that effort either. Because all the other was doing was avoiding each other.

"It sounds like one," Ashton agreed somewhat glumly. This was just what Jake needed to hear on top of his current depression. "Well, I'm not gonna be the one to tell Jake," he added on with a grimace. "His temper is a little life-threatening."

Lola let out a long sigh. "I mean do we have to tell him? I guess I will. Its not fair if he doesn't know, cause as much as jerk he may be sometimes. He would actually wait around for her." Lola said somewhat glumly at well. Poor kid couldn't catch a break with girls.

Ashton figured this subject was kind of a downer and changed it hastily to music. After about an hour more, he and Lola decided to head back. It was roughly eight now and he recalled Seth mentioning they'd be leaving around eight or nine.

They headed back toward campus, Ashton idly wondering what Seth was planning for tonight, given he still had one arm in a cast.
