[[James and Ashlee come in]]


James opened the door to the noisy student center, he saw quiet a few people, some playing pool at the pool tables, other lounging on couches and chairs talking and drinking coffee or watching TV, he found an empty table and motioned Ashlee over to it, he had come with her since she had been alone but she had informed him of meeting her new roommate here.

James sat down, and Ashlee straightened herself out wanting to look decent when her roommate came, she tried to flatten out the wrinkles on her she wore yet another neon shirt, with a zebra tank top underneath with dark ripped jeans and she hung her black sweater over her chair.

"Geez Ash, could you wear a brighter shirt?" James said sheilding his eyes.

Ashlee pulled a face at James, "I want her to be able to find me, plus you know how I love to stand out." She grinned, her turqouise eyes twinkling.

James chuckeled, "God I missed you, can you believe we're here, I mean I feel like I don't know where to go first."

"You mean "do" first huh?" Ashlee winked.

James laughed, "Jesus Ash, control yourself. So you excited to meet your new roommate?"

She looked down at her Blackberry, re-reading a text her brother sent her a bit distracted but she nodded, "Yeah I am, I just hope she isn't a weirdo."

"Ash if anything you're a neon sign, I'm sure anyone is pretty tame when standing next to you." James made a comment again at her wardrobe.

"Screw you Darko." Ashlee stuck her tongue out at him.

Oriana Daelyn Pascale hated this place. She hadn't been here three seconds, and already her nose was assaulted with the stench of human sweat and junk food. Oriana crinkled her button nose and stepped through the doorway, scanning the crowded room for her quarry.

Oriana didn't know the campus so well. She'd grown up in Brooklyn and as far as she was concerned, Manhattan was just a commercial whore of a borough. Her late mother had always agreed with her, and Oriana's "guy friends" - when they ever talked - agreed.

As usual, she was attracting attention. It was effortless. She'd been told she was charismatic. A huddle of college boys catcalled as she stalked past. At 5'11, Oriana didn't need need heels or fancy dresses to look willowy and lean. She'd just donned white short-shorts and a racerback grey tank that brought out the silvery flecks of her brown eyes. Her feet were clad simply in white flats and she tucked her red-blue srtreaks behind her ear. It had been a while since she'd seen her dishwater blond hair. Right now, it was a dark brown to let the fiery red and neon blue stand out.

Oriana loved changing her hair color. It was almost religious, the way she followed a schedule. She had to do it, to maintain some semblance of her sanity.

Because the rest of her wasn't hers at all.

She caught the eyes of a girl across the room, clad in neon tank and ripped jeans. THe girl had said she had black hair. Oriana tilted her head and decided she was in the right direction.

She strolled over to the girl's table, and paused, one hand on her hip. "You Ashlee Brookes?"

Ashlee heard her name and turned to face the dark haired girl. She stood up and the girl towered over her 5'2" frame.

She glanced back at James and his eyes looked like they were going to pop out of his head.

Ashlee put on a friendly smile and ignored James' gawking, "Yeah I'm Ashlee, you're Oriana right?"

Oriana nodded, glanced once at the cute guy beside Ashlee and dismissed him as inadequate. He was probably her roomie's beau or something.

"Where's your apartment, exactly? I'd like to see it," she answered, ignoring Ashlee's question. Her voice wasn't her custom husky. She'd switched to bored and stoic. She shifted her weight to her other hip and caught the glance of some redhead guy over Ashlee's shoulder. The guy smiled her way and Oriana had a sudden bell going off in her head. She'd seen him somewhere. She turned back to Ashlee, dismissing him for later thought.

This girl was tiny, Oriana thought in amusement. And chirpy as a cracked-up sparrow, she could tell. Ashlee radiated frigging happiness. Oriana's eyebrow twitched. She loathed unnecessarily happy people.

Ashlee was a bit put off by her stoic nature but she let that slide, " Yeah sure, oh and this is James he's my one of my good friends, trust me he's not this quiet."

James stood up and smiled, "Hey. Anyone tell you were really tall? You could seriously play basketball."

Ashlee rolled her eyes, "Um how about we go see the apartment its not too far from here."

Oriana blinked at James. "I hate basketball. It's as stupid as football." She shrugged a slender shoulder at Ashlee and then glanced behind her. The redhead was still looking her way.

Why do i remember his face? I don't know his name, I don't think...

The redhead seemed to gain courage adn suddenly, he got up form his seat and headed toward them. Just as Oriana remembered where she'd met him.

Ah shit, effing motherfu- She swore softly under her breath. She could sudden;y remember his apartment. And his bedroom. From a month or so ago. Some rich Upper East Side kid with serious people issues. Couldn't get a girlfriend to save his life and the only way he'd ever score would be by paying a female to look his way. Just as he had with her.

"Let's get going. I have places to be," Oriana snapped at Ashlee, reaching out and grabbing her potential roommate's arm, almost dragging her to the door. The redhead was now almost there.

James cringed slightly this Oriana girl had some issues, he hoped Ashlee knew what she was getting herself into.

Ashlee let out a tiny yelp as Oriana dragged her out of the Student Center, "Suree..."

"Where to?" Oriana said sharply, glancing over her shoulder. The dimwitted redhead was still in the center and he looked confused. She heaved a breath.

[[to Ashlee's apt. Midtown Apts.]]

"The aparment complex in Midtown on 32nd street." Ashlee said.

James looked down at his phone and tapped Ashlee on the shoulder, "Um I'm gonna go maybe see if Luke got everything or needs help I'll see ya later?"

Ashlee nodded, and James waved goodbye to Ashlee and Oriana.

Luke pushed open the doors to the Student Center, taking a swig of his soda can as he walked with the guy he'd met in his Political Science class to an empty table. He tossed his bag down adn dropped into a chair, long legs stretched out to the side. "I loved that professor. He could be Bill Nye in disguise."

"Bill Nye, the science guy~"Connor said in a sing-song like voice as he dropped down into the seat by him and stretched out his arms across the table. "Whatever happened to that guy anyway?"He asked, looking over at Luke, as he propped his head up in his hand, elbow against the table.

Luke shot him an amused glance. "I dunno, I stopped watching after my little sister took it up. Got annoying as hell." He straightened up. "So what exactly are you doing at college?"

Connor grinned at him. "Uhmm, mostly Criminal Laws."

Luke raised an eyebrow, surprised. Connor seemed very easygoing for a lawyer. He thought lawyers were stereotypically sharp and manipulative. Like someone he knew.

"I have a friend in that program. I don't know if you met her in any of your classes yet," he informed Connor, taking a sip of his soda. "She's first year, though."

"Maybe not, I don't focus on the people in the class other than the teacher very much."Connor said, taking a sip of his Coke-Cola. "What about you? Whatcha in for?"Connor said, like they did in TV for those in down town jail with a grin.

Luke raised an eyebrow. Connor was a bizarre guy, but amusing. He grinned. "I'm undeclared, but thinking of going into psychology. I could help out a lot of my disturbed friends."

"Ah- I don't think I could ever sit through that."Connor said, playing with the straw to his coke, looking around.

Ashlee walked into the student center, today she had managed to shower properly after going back later, and fortunately enough for her stupid roommate wasn't around, so she had a chance to look nicer now than earlier. She wore skinny jeans with tall black suede boots, her hair straight as usual down her back, over her jeans she wore a long sleeve black shirt over a lacey pink tank top, and a few long black necklaces.

She spotted Lucas sitting with some boy, a very cute boy, she noted. He had probably met in his classes.

Ashlee decided to join them, "Evening boys." She chirped sitting across from the boys, crossing her legs and setting her bag down beside her chair.

Luke flashed a smile at her in greeting. "Hey, Ash." He tilted his head toward Connor. "This is Connor. He's in my pol sci class. Connor, this is Ashlee, she was the neigbourhood lunatic back home."

Ashlee gave Luke a light kick under the table, "Hi Connor, nice to meet you, in case Luke didn't tell you he was the neighborhood multiple girlfriend man." She smirked.

"Ah.. nice to meet you both, I'm just.. Connor the neighborhood prankster or crack head according to friends parents."Connor chuckled, holding out his hand to Ashlee.

Luke kicked Ashlee back under the table and took another sip of his soda. "Connor is in Evelyn's major," he informed her. "I pray he never meets her."

Ashlee snorted, "Yeah she's different alright. So Connor where are you from?" Ashlee asked him.

"Kansas. How about you?"Connor asked, leaning back in his seat as he looked at her.

"Born in Michigan, but I lived in Ash Creek with my friend Luke here. So did you guys like your classes? I liked mine, some pretty cute guys in it, if I must say so." Ashlee grinned.
