Freshmen Dorms

Alexis paused from her typing, looking up at Evelyn and blinked out of shock. "...How'd it go?"She asked, not really expecting Evelyn to explain or tell as it wasn't all her business.

Evelyn shrugged. She wasn't even sure why she was still here. Nova was getting restless; she could feel him rustling through her backpack.

"Um..." Because Alexis had suggested they grow the hell up, was why. "Shockingly good. I mean...we decided to um, start over. Like, completely. Not even friends, really, but trying to get there. It got ugly for a bit but I guess we had a load to get off our chests."

Alexis bit at her bottom lip, frowning at her phone's screen and glanced up at Evelyn, wanting to tell her that the conversation with James obviously didn't work very well. She opted for shutting that part of her nagging brain up and went with, "Oh.. well.. that's great then."

Evelyn nodded, forcing a pained smile. "I figured I should tell you, because um, well....you made a lot of sense. I just....I was kind of pissed. that you wouldn't even hear me out before making judgments." She caught herself and said hastily, "But um, I'm keeping you here. So I'll just, um, head back."

Alexis bit her bottom lip hard, almost to the point of drawing blood and stared at Evelyn. "Seth just told me um.. James kinda beat the shit out of Jacob."She blurted, before grimacing.

Evelyn had already punched the button for the lift and she froze.

She's kidding. He wouldn't. He was...what? He said we were going to be okay.

Her hand stilled and she turned around, face frozen. "What?" she asked quietly. "When?"

"Apparently, last night... and it went as fucking bad as James punched out a window and they were going at each other with glass shards, aiming for their necks."Alexis said, feeling an headache start to pound in her head from the pain in her lower back.

Was she just going to be the little black cloud everyone but Seth, whom was insane anyway, wanted to avoid?

Evelyn's jaw slackened. She felt weirdly lightheaded and a sickening jolt rose in her stomach. Glass shards? Aiming to kill? James didn't fight dirty. Not as far as she knew. She licked her lips and swallowed to clear her constricted airway. Why would he randomly attack Jake like that?

She didn't know if she should feel angry that James would take things so far after convincing her they could be friends, or worried about how ugly things might get soon. How bad had it gotten?

"Were they okay?" she asked quickly, biting her lip so hard it bled. "And where the hell were they together? They don't run in the same circles!" She sounded a bit hysterical so she tried to tone her expression down.

"Whoa- Evelyn, slow down. Let me explain..." Alexis said quickly, staring at the hysterical girl. "Jake started it- he was saying stuff about you- I don't know what. James threw the first punch. And it went from there. They fought. They are both fine though... Jake's hung over- so he's fine and from the sounds of it, James is fine too. Just- calm down."

Despite thinking he had turned off his alarm, Jake had been wrong hearing it chrip in his ear, was like nails on a chalkboard.

Jacob groaned shoving his head under his pillow and waving his arm around blindly, he caught the blasted thing, ripped it out of its socket and tossed it across the room.


His head was pounding and he felt sick as hell. Jake knew he shouldn't drink on an empty stomach, but of course his brawl with James also had something to do with his pain as well.

"Fuck vodak." He uttered, closing his eyes tightly and pulling the covers up over his head.

Evelyn gaped at her. Why would Jake talk about her when he didn't absolutely have to? She didn't voice this out loud. But he'd said it himself. He had better things to do.

So maybe James had taken it too extremely? But James didn't fight dirty. Not that she knew of anyways. So unless he was aching for a fight with Jake...

Why would he be though? What the hell was wrong with that guy? They'd only just gotten to a neutral stand and now this?

Evelyn bit her lip harder. "Is Seth telling you this? Because his view might be skewed." She stepped away from the elevator, thinking maybe a visit to James might be needed.

Seth glanced up as Jake's alarm clock hit the wall between their rooms and possibly cracked. He glanced down at his laptop where he was seated at his desk, with Lucifer curled up in his lap. He logged off quickly before getting up, dislodging the cat.

Normally, he'd be thrilled with the opportunity to harass a drunk Jake. But right now, Alexis and his gut instincts were telling him something was about to go down. Depending on how Evelyn took it. Who would she pin the blame on, Jake or James?

Seth stuck his head out into the hallway and then padded into the kitchen. He felt a flash of impulse and grabbed a large saucepan. Taking it back to Jake's room, he banged it on the locked metal and wood door yelling, "RISE AND SHINE!"

"I think he'd remember something like this, Evelyn... Jake got on his nerves and they fought it out, is all... no big deal."Alexis said, sighing quietly as she slipped her phone back in her jeans pocket, watching her.

"Oh," was all Evelyn could really think of to say. She stuffed her hands into the pockets of her track pants and glanced around. "Okay." She pursed her lips, now willing to explode in public. "I'll see...see you around, Alexis, I guess." She turned and punched the button for the elevator. Luckily, she'd already called it down and she offered Alexis a small smile as she stepped in.

First stop, the charming, manwhore, flea-bitten, Neanderthal boyfriend.

Alexis let out a small sigh and rubbed at her upper arm. "Bye, Evelyn." Alexis replied quietly, feeling her stomach twisting with nervousness that once more it was going to be her fault of a big fight- that and she hadn't ate ever since lunch yesterday. She turned on her heel and went to go wherever the hell she had to go to hopefully change dorms.

Evelyn headed up to the fifth floor again. Instead of turning towards her room, she headed down the hall to Seth and Jake's suite. She knocked on the door, grinding her teeth. She didn't know if she was pissed at Jake or at James, but right now, she wasn't feeling up to carting Nova with her to Midtown Manhattan.

Jake had the tendency to open his big, fat mouth at the wrong moments. He'd no doubt said something snarky. But then James was used to being annoying. That shouldn't have pissed him off.

The receptionist behind the desk in the Student Residence Office smiled up at Alexis. "May I help you?"

"Uh- Hi. I'd like to change dorms?" Alexis said, rubbing at her left eye for a moment as it stung from getting no real shut eye.

The woman nodded. She took Alexis' student number and some basic info and logged it onto her computer. After clicking around for a bit she replied, "I'm sorry, hon, there aren't any available rooms in the Freshmen Building. We have a waitlist for it though."

Alexis groaned inwardly, and leaned against the desk slightly. "I realllllly need a new dorm. I cannot keep sleeping on a slightly friends couch." Alexis said, giving the woman a slight pleading look.

The woman looked confused. "Um, I'm sorry honey. Dorm applications come in since April. All the dorms are full and the two we had left now have bookings for two exchange students coming in this week."

Alexis groaned out loud now and put her head in her hands frustratedly. What the hell was she gonna do? Sleep on the floor next to try and get some rest?

"May I ask what's wrong with suite 505 room B?" the woman asked sympathetically.

"Complications with the roommate."Alexis said simply, rubbing at her eyes with the bottom palms of her hands before looking at the woman. "Thanks anyway.."

"Well, I'm sorry. You could try off-campus housing?" the woman suggested.

"..Yeah. Looks like I'm gonna have too. Anyway, thanks. Bye."Alexis said, turning and leaving to go back to Lola's till she had to leave.

Jacob groaned, tossing himself over trying to sheild his ears from Seth's obnoxious self.

Jake sat up in bed slowly and he rubbed his forehead.

He felt his stomach churning and he coughed and his eyes widened and he got up running out of his room to the bathroom.

Jacob lowered his head and threw up.
